Installation

On Macintosh computer running 32-bit OS.
Make sure to trust the certificate for the signed ChemAxon Marvin applet before you call CWM Global Search the first time. In order to do this click the next link and follow instructions.

Please do not run Safari in 32 Bit mode on 64-bit Mac OS.
Make sure to UNCHECK the 'Open in 32-bit mode' checkbox in Safari, see below.

Go to your "Applications" folder and find Safari there.
Right click on the Safari icon. If you are using a mouse that does not have two buttons, hold the "Command" key while you are clicking. If you are using a newer MacBook or MacBook Pro with the Multi-Touch Trackpad, you can alternatively click the icon using two fingers. Click "Get Info."

CWM Global Search Web requires that the Microsoft Silverlight Plug-In version 3 is installed in your Browser.
The presence of the Plug-In will be checked when the application start page is opened.
If the Silverlight Plug-In is not installed in your Browser the following page will be displayed :

Please click the 'Install Silverlight Plug-In 3.0' link to install Silverlight Plug-In version 3.0 in your Browser. After click on the install link , depending on your Browser , either run the installer or save the installer file to disk and run it afterwards.
Important: If you choose to save the installer to disk, make sure to use a download directory where you have the appropriate rights to save and execute the installer file.

Note: As for any other Plug-In the installation does require admin privileges.

As for any other Plug-In's it can be disabled or uninstalled at any time.

Java runtime required on local computer.
CWM Global Search Web is using a Java Applet to render/edit chemical structures.
In order to use this Applet, Java runtime must be present on your computer.

You can use the following URL to test if Java runtime is installed properly on your computer:

The following page will be displayed:

Click the 'Verify Java version' button to start the verification process.

If Java is installed correctly you should see the following screen:

If the verification fails, please follow the instructions given by Sun Microsystems to fix the problem.

Enable JavaScript in your Browser.

The structure renderer width and height is not automatically adjusted when the Browser window gets resized. Please click the 'Scale to fit' button after Browser window resize operations. This will adjust the width/height of the structure renderer.
The first time the structure editor window is opened drawing operations might be slow. Also the update of the structure box of the corresponding Global Search page might be slow. Please be patient and let the application complete those operations. Due to caching, subsequent structure editor window drawing operations respectively structure box refresh will be fast.
